Confidence comes from knowing yourself: what you are, and what you are not.

We live in a world that tries to tell us who we are, and what we are about.

Most of our ideas about ourselves come from outside.

           

From childhood we begin being 'externally referenced'. This means that from the simplest question 'does my bum look big in this?' to more complex psychometric testing, we look to someone, or something, outside of ourselves to tell us who we are and how we should be.

Trying to live up to an externally created idea of who or what we should be,
is the root cause of 'lack of confidence'.
For example: if you have always been told you are punctual, or reliable,
and you believe this to be true,
and then you experience repeated occasions where you are late,
for whatever reason. You will experience this as a 'knock of confidence'. 

When you used to believe something about yourself 
that no longer seems to be the case, your world is rocked.

               

This is how life calls us to open ourselves up to the greater truth
of who we are, beyond external ideas imposed upon us.

The answer lies within. We find the solution by going within
and embarking upon our inner journey to discover the truth about ourselves.
False beliefs cannot stand in the face of deeper truth. 

We become 'internally referenced' - taking our cues from inside,
and what we know to be true, about ourselves.
From this place, it isn't possible to lose confidence, because
our confidence comes from knowing the truth of our inner being.

True confidence is beyond belief.
